This site is simple on purpose. There’s no account system for browsing the site, no advertising trackers that I control, and no newsletter signup form here beyond what Substack runs on its own.
Email and the contact form
If you email joseph@josephsorensen.com, that message lives in my inbox like any other email. The Write form asks for your email and a short note, checks a simple captcha, and stores the ticket in a private Google Sheet I control so I can reply from Gmail. I don’t sell, rent, or hand your address to marketers.
Notchwright bookmarks
Notchwright saves your session in your browser. When you have real data (matches, a plan, logs), it also stores an encrypted copy on my server under a random visit key in the page address (the part after #k=). Changes update that copy; the key itself stays the same.
If you choose “Email me this bookmark,” I store your email next to that visit key, send you the link, and keep a copy of that message so I can resend the link if you lose it. Anyone with the link can open the session. The ciphertext alone is not readable without the key; recovery works because the emailed link includes the key.
You can erase everything in the tool to delete the server copy and the email mapping for that key. You can also email me and ask me to delete a stored bookmark or address.
Booking (Breely)
When you book a session, the scheduling form is run by Breely. You’ll share whatever they ask for to set up the call — typically your name, email, and anything you choose to write in the form. That data is processed by Breely so the booking can happen. I see what I need to show up for our session. I don’t use booking details for marketing lists.
Writing / Substack
The Writing page lists posts from my Substack feed at build time. If you subscribe to Leaky Thoughts on Substack, that relationship is with Substack, under their privacy terms — not something this site manages.
Cookies
This site itself doesn’t set tracking cookies. The Breely booking embed only loads after you click to book. If Breely sets cookies for the form to work, those are for the booking flow — not ads from me. I don’t run a cookie consent banner for that reason; if that changes, this page will say so.
What I don’t do
I don’t sell personal data. I don’t build profiles for advertising. I don’t share what you tell me in a session as content without your clear permission.
